Wedge Engineering Seat Brackets
Racing Seat
BracketsWedge Engineering makes Racing Seat Brackets to fit
each individual vehicle. Currently Wedge makes racing seat brackets for
approximately 1000 cars. With more Racing Seat Brackets being added all the
time. Each Racing Seat Bracket is made to fit the car and seat at the time it
is ordered.

Wedge racing seat brackets mount to the seat sliders on one side and the floor
of the vehicle on the other side.
Racing Seat BracketsHow they Work
There are four components to a
racing seat installation. The Seat, the seat sliders, the slider to seat base
bracket adapter and the seat base bracket.
It this photo you can see the
APC seat bottom, the seat slider and the slider aduster that comes with the
sliders.
APC seats come with "Flat" style sliders, Sparco seats do not
come with sliders and you must purchase them separately.
Check with
your seat manufacturer to acquire seat sliders for your seat. |

This is a typical Wedge Engineering Seat Bracket. This
is a view from the top and front of the bracket.
The bottom part bolts
directly to the floor of the car using the original seat bracket mounting
holes. The brackets maintain the original seat height to the top of the bracket
to seat adapter.
The top of the bracket in this example adapts a flat
style slider to a tab style base and is made for the seat manufacturer that you
select when you puchase the bracket.
If the factory seat bracket had
mounts for the seat belts, the Wedge Engineering bracket will also provide seat
belt mounts.

The bracket to seat adapter connects to the seat base bracket
with bolts at each end of the bracket for tab style brackets. The bracket to
seat adapter is different for each manufactures seat. The bracket to seat
adapter can be custom made for seats not listed when you puchase and will adapt
flat sliders to tab racing seat bracket bases. Simply select custom as a seat
manufacturer and input the measurements at checkout in the space
provided.
The seat base bracket is a bolt in fit for the car it is made
for on one side and the seat on the other. |

This is a top view of one side of the bracket. It shows
how the brackets are assembled and where the sliders are bolted to the seat.
The slider to seat adapter bolts and the seat adapter to seat base
brackets bolts come with the bracket.
An allen wrench used for the seat
adapter to seat slider bolts is also provided as required. |
Racing Seat Brackets How to Order
| On the ordering page you will find three boxes
called "drop down lists" at the bottom of the page that look like

The first drop down
list will display a list of the different types of sliders that are available
with the seat when you click inside the box. To select your type of slider
scroll down the list and select the type of slider that matches the one on your
seat. All APC seats are "Flat" style, Sparco are typically flat with
some that are "Tab" style.
The second drop down list will display a list of seats
to choose from. If your seats are in the list just scroll down the page and
select your seat manufacturer by clicking on it. If your seat is not listed
select "Custom" for the list. If you select "Custom" from the
list you must supply the measurements of the seat sliders in the space provided
which is labeled "Custom Wedge Engineering Seat Bracket Size:" when you
check out. See below for measuring instructions.
The third drop down list will display a list of all
available brakets by vehicle. Be sure to scroll all the way down the list, some
vehicles are listed multiple times.

Measuring Sliders for Custom
Seats
There are two parts to a seat bracket. The floor
bracket (bottom part) and the seat to slider bracket (top part). The two parts
are bolted together to form a complete bracket. The bottom part is the same for
every seat while the top bracket is different for each seat. If the
manufacturer selected is custom we need the measurements of the seat sliders to
determine how to make the top bracket. Custom top brackets are the same price
as the standard seat brackets.
If you look at the slider on the bottom
of the seat, it has holes that are used to mount it to the seat adapter bracket
(top part). With the slider mounted on the seat measure the distance from the
center of the front hole to the center of the back hole and then again center
to center from one side of the seat to the other side of the same seat.
